Das recently joined Aircel board as director-in-charge for Indian operations. Kini put in his papers citing personal reasons.

“We have a strong management team on the ground in all departments to ensure that the company does not miss a beat through this transition. Sandip, given his extensive knowledge of India, would help oversee the operations and guide the team through this period,” said Dato’ Jamaludin Ibrahim, Maxis Group CEO.

“We have begun our search for the new Chief Executive Officer and other national positions in marketing, customer service and so on. We are confident that in the next few weeks, along with the existing senior management team at Aircel, we would have built a strong India-based top management team that will work towards making Aircel a formidable telecommunications service provider,” said Das.
