SPRINGFIELD, US:-Versar, Inc. has announced it is one of sixteen small businesses awarded a five year, $3 billion ID/IQ contract by the Department of the Air Force’s Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE). The five year contract will have an eight year performance period and be worldwide in geographic scope, it says in a press note.

The Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction (WERC 09) contract scope allows for environmental restoration services, traditional construction, and services in support of the Military Munitions Response Program. Since December of 2003, Versar has performed more than $35 million of work for AFCEE under a predecessor contract.

Dr. Ted Prociv, President & CEO of Versar, said, “The Air Force continues to be a most valued client. The WERC 09 contract is a strong vote of confidence in the quality of environmental remediation and construction services we have provided the Air Force and our clients over the years. This award supports our strategy of building Versar into a leadership position among a new breed of “green” companies which provide full service environment, energy and construction services. We are a “green –collar” company.”
