AdventNet launches networking soln for SMEs

BANGALORE: US based enterprise and carrier-grade solution provider, Adventnet has launched a network and systems management software, ManageEngine OpManager 4 for the SME segment to cost-effectively manage their networks.

Says M. Rathnagirish, Product Manager, AdventNet," ManageEngine OpManager is a comprehensive network, system and application monitoring software that offers advanced network monitoring functionality at an affordable price. Enterprises which have small and medium network that needs to be monitored can use the product and is targeted at industries like manufacturing, Banking, Insurance, Financial sectors etc'.

The product promises quick ROI, lower TCO and also to identify and prevent service outages and response time bottlenecks.

According to him, typically OpManager would be an ideal fit for companies with 100 - 1000 employees. This means that the network size would be anywhere between 100 - 1500 / 2000 devices, which include critical servers, routers and switches in addition to normal user desktops.

"Ideally the IT division will be 1 - 10 members in size. Companies with geographically distributed networks will also have a need for OpManager to monitor the remote networks from a single location", he adds.

OpManager is based on the Web NMS framework, which is industry-leading framework for building Element Management System for OEM's. Web NMS is targeted at OEM's for building Element Management System. The product runs on Windows, Linux and Solaris platform.

"Today lot of OEM's (Both telecom and enterprise focused network equipment manufacturers) including Motorola, Nortel, Lucent, ZTE, Samsung, Sony, UTStar have already built their Management Application based on Web NMS framework. Currently we are expanding our portfolio to Enterprise with OpManager", he said.

The pricing range starts at $795 for a single user edition and it also has a 2 user and 5 user editions priced at $1295 & $2495 respectively.

On their SME focus, he says, "We have already put in a year in managing and developing a resource plan for the product 'OpManager'. We have planned to release more products aimed at this segment. We have a definite strategy to attack the SME with a suite of products. For market development, we are looking at trade shows, advertisements, and other medium to educate the customers on the need for these products."

The company is currently looking out for channel partners for selling this product and plan to tap both the domestic and overseas market.

AdventNet is headquartered in Pleasanton, CA with offices in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Canada, India, UK, and Japan and has a well-trained partner base around the globe. It has over 450 employees and more than 1000 customers.
