The survey data indicated that 30 percent of the companies have already adopted cloud computing and an additional 20 percent are planning to do so within next 12 months. Additional analysis revealed that one-third of the respondents felt that lack of awareness was the major constraint, while another 21 percent cited security concerns as a major deterrent for adopting Cloud Computing.

19 percent of them cited costs and 10 percent of them said limited services as the reason for them for not going in for the cloud infrastructure.

The survey concluded that organizations world wide are increasingly interested in transitioning to a cloud computing model, with almost 50 percent of the respondents moving to the cloud within the next 12 months or have already moved some of their applications to the cloud. The cloud computing paradigm is fast evolving, from a futuristic technology to a commercially viable alternative.

The survey was conducted during the webinar, ‘Testing in the Cloud-Realistic Performance, Load and Stress Testing’ that the company had organized recently. A total of 104 participants from global 2,000 companies took part in the survey.
