Adobe gets positive rating from Gartner

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Adobe Systems Incorporated, a provider in software and technology services today announced it received a “Strong Positive” rating in Gartner’s “MarketScope for Ajax Technology and Rich Internet Application (RIA) Platforms, 2008.”

Adobe was one among the 20 vendors evaluated for the report, which looked at criteria including product/service, offering strategy, overall viability, sales execution and pricing, market responsiveness, track record and market understanding, said a press release.

“It’s exciting to see how our diverse base of global customers are utilizing the Adobe Flash Platform to simplify their online business processes and deliver additional value from existing systems and infrastructure,” said Michele Turner, vice president, product marketing and developer relations for the Platform Business Unit at Adobe Systems.

He further added, “We are committed to enabling effective RIA solutions through the Adobe Flash Platform and continue to focus on helping companies create compelling Web applications in the enterprise.” The market for RIA platforms is in rapid growth and transformation, said the release.

According to Gartner estimates, “The majority of Global 1000 companies have experimented with RIA or Ajax technologies, from more than one vendor.”

Vendors in the “Strong Positive” category are “viewed as a provider of strategic products, services or solutions. Customers should continue with planned investments and potential customers should consider this vendor, a strong choice for strategic investments.”it added.
