Adobe launches Photoshop 7.0 in India

MUMBAI: Adobe Systems India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Adobe systems US, has launched Photoshop 7.0, the new version of Photoshop. It has a comprehensive toolset for users to meet creative or production challenges and complete the variety of image-editing tasks, the company claimed.

Speaking on the occasion, Jordan Reizes, Marketing Manager, South Asia, Adobe Systems, said, "With the launch of Photoshop 7.0, we are bringing our customers closer to network publishing which will enable them to create content once and use it in a range of ways on a range of."

The major enhancements in Photoshop 7.0 include the file browser, which is an image organization tool that allows users to browse image thumbnails, quickly rotate, sort, rank and batch rename images as well as view exchangeable image file information from digital cameras.

It also has a new healing brush feature which simplifies the photo retouching process by allowing users to effortlessly remove dust, scratches, blemishes, wrinkles and other flaws. At the same time, it preserves the shading, lighting and texture of the original image. The new version also offers many creative tools including the new painting engine, which allows users to simulate traditional painting techniques.

Shipping with Photoshop 7.0 is ImageReady 7.0 software, which offers specialized features for accomplishing advanced Web production tasks and creating highly sophisticated Web graphics and animations. Photoshop 7.0 will be available in India at an estimated street price of Rs 31,500. Earlier versions can be upgraded to version 7.0 for Rs 7, 800.
