Adobe India CEO's son rescued

NOIDA: Two persons were reportedly arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Anant Gupta, who was rescued and reunited with his family on Friday after he was abducted from outside his Sector 15-A residence five days ago.

Three-year-old Anant, son of Adobe India CEO Naresh Gupta, was rescued from Noida-Bulandsahr border. He rejoined his family unharmed around noon, after a medical examination. Doctors who examined the child ruled out the possibility of Anant been drugged in the last five days.

"We have rescued Anant Gupta. Our priority in the 56-hour-long operation was to mount pressure on the kidnappers and to rescue the child safely. Anant is safe, hale and hearty and has been reunited with his mother," said S K Bhagat, Senior Superintendent of Police, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.

The family said it did not paid any ransom for the safe release of the child, even though they had received ransom calls demanding Rs 60 lakh.

Two motorcycle-borne men abducted Anant on Monday around 9 a.m., as he was taken to his school bus by a domestic help.

A special task force was formed following the kidnapping and several teams of UP police, along with their Delhi counterparts were involved in one of the biggest manhunt in recent times.
