Adobe opens development center in Noida

NEW DELHI: Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced the official opening of its new R&D center at Noida. The center is built with an investment of more than $10 million and has the capacity to accommodate 370 software engineers.



The center would be the new facility for all Adobe employees in India including marketing, sales and R&D teams. It has a modern CAT6 cabling infrastructure, 200 percent complete power-backup, fiber connectivity and a well-equipped gymnasium.



Adobe also announced its plan to invest up to $50 million in India over a period of five years that includes investment in expanding the infrastructure and R&D activities.



The Adobe India campus is responsible for the development of key Adobe products like PageMaker and the Acrobat Readers for mobile devices. In addition it is driving key core technologies in the areas of image and video compression, and file format translation software to allow customers to deal with multiple file formats.



These technologies are shipping standard as part of key products such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat and Premiere. Naresh Gupta, managing director of Adobe India added, "The India campus has seen a tremendous amount of growth since the first R&D center opened four years ago. Our rate of progress is marked by the increasing amount of high quality products and technologies developed here for Adobe customers worldwide. It is rewarding to know that we have contributed to Adobe’s innovation and success."
