BANGALORE: Hyderabad-based Adeptek Software Solutions has developed an
electronic signature authentication software eSign that uses a low cost
digitizer to capture the signing event and links it to the electronic document
with the intent of creating the legal equivalent of the handwritten signature.
The software comes with a digital pen device equipped with a verification
technology, which uses a combination of cryptography and "biometrics''. The
module helps in viewing the signature by an individual receiving the signed
document. Adeptek director M. Anil Kumar, said biometric token created by
Adeptek is secured by the cryptographic technology, which conforms to the
standards set by NSA and further employs complex random seed encryption (RSE)
algorithm. Once captured, the biometrics token is tamper-proof and can be
transported between systems.
eSign is multi-platform compliant, facilitates signing in all Microsoft
Office applications and is capable of performing in applications which support
Active-X technology and Java-based applications. Company Director Y.V. Prasad
said the important feature of this software is the document security. Once the
document is signed, no one can edit it. During the signature capture process, it
records not only the image of the signature but also the "dynamics of the
signature,'' thereby allowing the signature verification for authentication and
security purpose.
To market the products globally, Adeptek has entered into agreements with a
Detroit-based company CyberWiz Inc as development and marketing partner for the
US and Europe, and with Hykey Solutions of Dubai as marketing partner in UAE,
CIS states, Iran and East Asia.
