HYDERABAD: Chennai-based security consulting and services provider Adept Technology has decided to set up a Performance-Testing (PT) lab in Bangalore. Planned with an investment of about Rs 40 — 50 lakh, this would be the company's second such lab after Chennai. It is also planning to foray into Middle East and European markets and is planning to set up another PT lab in Singapore by the end of March 2005.

"We are partnering with Singapore based MIT PT Ltd and have also signed up first level MoU with the company. As far as the investments and financial model is concerned, we are yet to finalize on the terms," informed Adept Technology MD R Govardhanan.

The company has recently bagged a contract with the Bangalore cyber crime branch to offer its services. "There is an increasing concern by the companies on various email offences, cyber crimes and we intend to offer quality consulting on security services," said Govardhanan. The company is already serving Chennai cyber crime branch and is on the verge of negotiating with the Hyderabad crime branch also.

The training division of Adept Technology has tied up with EC-Council, which is an international council of eCommerce consultants, to certify security professionals. Presently, with one training center in Chennai, the company plans to flag off another center in Bangalore starting March this year, and by the end of 2005, it intends to expand its training center base in additional four cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi.

"Currently, we are training around 350 to 400 security professionals every year, but with the thrust on security going up, we foresee that this number would further escalate by 60 percent or more," informed Adept security practice head Om Prakash.
