ADCOM intros low-cost smartphone range

ADCOM, the makers of PC consumables and peripherals, today unveiled budget Smartphone lineup in a price range between Rs 3,199 to Rs 8,999. With six new smartphone devices, the company eyes at a revenue of Rs 100 crore during the current fiscal.

Powered with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the range consists of six Smartphone products that include: A-530 HD, A-500, A-450, A-430, A-400, A-350. ADCOM is also planning to announce quad-core processor based smartphone by July this year.

ADCOM founder JL Bhatia said that Smartphone industry in India is at nascent stage and they are trying to create a compelling proposition for their customers with affordable Smartphone devices. It is also offering onsite support for their new lineup.

The company is aiming to sell 100,000 units by the end of this FY, and is targeting to achieve revenue of Rs 100 crore from the entire gamut of products portfolio. All the new Smartphones would be available on e-commerce portals such as Flipkart, Naaptool and Snapdeal.

ADCOM co-founder and chairman Sanjiv Bhatia said that they have been selling Android-based tablet PCs for the last two years. "It's just a beginning and we could see convergence around Smartphones," he said. Bhatia feels that feature-rich phone users would gradually tilt toward Smartphone devices.

"We have done customization and have come up with extended battery capability," he informed. The key features, Bhatia said include dual core 1.2GHz processor, expandable 32GB memory, dual SIM, 512 MB RAM and face detection-enabled security lock and 2800 mAh battery, among others.

The new devices come with free additional battery, screen guard, earphone, flip cover, charger and USB cable. ADCOM is already in talks with LFRs such as Chroma and Reliance Digital. The new range is also available through retail distribution network.
