The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) announced that it has signed an agreement with Infosys Technologies Ltd for transferring Autolay software product along with the associated Intellectual Property Rights. The initiative is aimed at leveraging the technology and R&D base of the government for commercial purposes.

Autolay, a commercial producer used in high-performance structural systems, is an integrated automated software system for design and development of 3-D laminated composite components. Infosys will further develop the Autolay software, enhancing its features to interface with other related tools and programmes, as well as increase applicability in related areas.

Infosys will use the Autolay software for client projects and applications and has the mandate to commercialise the product globally. "Autolay product is specific to composite material and would find increased use in the automotive and aerospace industries," said S Gopalkrishnan, COO, Infosys Technologies Ltd. "We are glad that we are able to take Autolay, developed by ADA, to international markets through our world class quality systems, technology expertise and network of clients worldwide," he added.
