Actis targets Rs 60 cr AV market in M'rashtra

MUMBAI: Audio visual and environment control solutions provider Actis Technologies Pvt Ltd today announced its expansion plans in Maharastra.

As a part of this initiative it announced the opening of its regional office in Pune. The company also announced the appointment of its branch manager, Pune, Lt. Col. (Retd) Mahesh Kulkarni.

Actis’s expansion plan is the result of sustained growth in the Maharastra region. The size of the AV industry in Maharastra (excluding Mumbai) is expected to touch 150 crores by 2010.

Actis has already provided AV solutions to numerous clients in the region including Honeywell Automation, Persistent Systems, Veritas Software, Ramdas Hospital, Patni Computer Systems, Sandvik, Bank of India, National Insurance Academy, Satyam Computer Services, Symbosis Institute of Business Management and Ventura amongst others.

Actis currently has 500 partners across India of which 22 partners are from Maharastra (excluding Mumbai). This includes partners from the office automation, audio visual and information technology community.

The company plans to appoint 75 additional partners in Maharastra (excluding Mumbai) by 2007.

Abhimanyu Gupta, director, Actis, commenting on the expansion plan, said, “The AV industry in Maharastra is experiencing strong growth from IT, ITeS, Manufacturing, Defence, Education and Residential sectors. With Pune taking its rightful place as a major economic center of India, it was our obvious choice of location to serve this region. This strategic location will help us respond faster to the needs of this region.”

He further added, “Actis is all geared up to expand its team significantly in the region as it churns out new business opportunities.”

Mahesh Kulkarni will spearhead the expansion in this region. He has enormous experience in organizing and deploying resources during his earlier stint with the Indian Army.
