Acropetal makes it to top as the fastest grown SME

BANGALORE: Acropetal Technologies Ltd., provider of high quality, cost effective global IT services, resources and outsourcing solutions, has bagged the IT exports award under the 'Fastest Grown SMEs in Karnataka' category which was given away by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the Karnataka IT Department at a function held recently.

Acropetal won the award for its excellent financial performance, registering almost a six-fold increase in its revenues in 2006-07 at over Rs. 40 crores, up from Rs. 7.65 crores in 2005-06.

"The award is a first step achievement towards our milestone and a motivator for Acropetal to become a global player," says D. Ravi Kumar, chairman and managing director of Acropetal Technologies.

The company, he said, was able to achieve such excellent results as it exploited its engineering design services strength considerably and by moving to Application Domain last year.

Ravi Kumar has been successful in steering the company on the path of success in about just six years and has been instrumental in introducing cutting edge technology skills. The company has undertaken several new projects and with his penchant for customer focus Ravi Kumar has created new dynamics in the company.

Acropetal offers a wide range of business solutions ranging from Data Warehousing, Enterprise portals, Extranets, CRM solutions, Supply Chain Management Services etc. The company has clients mostly in the US, Europe and the Middle East.

The company has a network of highly skilled technical and professional development experts with experience and applied competence in IT technologies providing resources for systems integration, development, implementation and product life-cycle support. Team work has yielded results

What's the secret behind the company success in a short span of time? "We started the company with a seed capital of just Rs 25 lakh in 2001. Hard work, team effort and perseverance has yielded rich results," says Ravi Kumar.

"From offering just engineering services, especially in the civil industry, we have grown into a complete technology solutions provider in IT and engineering services to large companies as well as medium-sized enterprises. Our services include software development, software maintenance, engineering, quality assurance and testing, establishing dedicated offshore software development centers, he adds.

With Acropetal witnessing an unprecedented growth in 2006-07, the company has set a target to achieve revenues of over Rs. 60 crores in 2007-08, a growth of nearly 50 per cent.

Riding high on the growth patterns, the company has chalked out a road-map to consolidate and expand its business. "The company is on the lookout for mergers and acquisitions within India and globally. We should be closing the deals this year," says Raghunath G, Business Development, Acropetal Technologies.

Further, Acropetal is also planning to double its existing employee strength of over 250 this year.

"The IT Exports award has made us more responsible and our focus is on strengthening the existing services and expand our business globally," says Ravi Kumar.
