ACMA holds its AGM

 AHMEDABAD, INDIA: Ahmedabad Computers Merchant’s Association (ACMA) recently held an annual general meeting to outline the initiatives to be undertaken as part of promoting the association and addressing the issues affecting trade in the region.

The AGM held on May 23 at the Ahemedabad Management Association Hall, saw the new elected President Kirti Thakkar address members of the association and announce the activities that will be undertaken by the association. While holding the ACMA IT expo is one of the top priorities of the association, the committee will also look at increasing its strength. The association is also looking to come out with a local directory for the year of 2009-10.

In addition, to enhance its presence within the end-user community, the association will be placing advertisement in newspapers and will also publish ACMA End-user Policy and Guidelines.

The members were suggested ways to combat economic downturn during the AGM.

“Business in the region has gone down by around 30 to 40 percent. Keeping the same in mind we have suggested several ways to our members through which they can look at boosting their businesses. We will also be holding a couple of technical seminars to provide information around various technologies to facilitate our members, ”added Kirti Thakkar President ACMA.

The AGM was followed by a technical presentation on network security products by Synersoft. The association has now resolved to hold seminars around upcoming technologies and trends on a constant basis.

Following the meeting the names of the new office bearers were also announced. While Narendra Bhertaria of Harsh Systems will hold the post of VP, Kishore Nagecha of KP Commercial has been appointed General Secretary. Chetan Dalal of Mauli Trading Co will be the Treasurer for the new committee.
