Acision names Mark Williams as Sr VP and GM

BANGALORE, INDIA: Acision, a messaging company, today announced the appointment of Mark Williams as senior vice president and general manager for the Asia Pacific region. Based in Acision’s Singapore office, Williams will take responsibility for aggressively driving growth in the region.

Starting his career at Telstra, Williams has more than 30 years of experience working with communications service providers, including 20 years in business and sales leadership roles, said a press release.

Prior to joining Acision, Williams was with Amdocs, where he headed up global sales in 2009. Prior to this, he was senior vice president for Amdocs’ Asia Pacific region where, under his leadership, he played an instrumental role in taking the company back to profitability.

Williams also held the position of VP for Australia and New Zealand when he joined Amdocs four years ago, leading the team that was successful in winning major business in the Telstra OSS transformation program, the release added.

He had also spent nine years at Ericsson Australia and later became the country manager of Sony Ericsson in Australia following the merger of Ericsson and Sony’s mobile handset businesses.

David King, chief operating officer for Acision, commented, "Williams has extensive experience in building profitability into businesses and driving up sales. His expertise and relationships in the Asian communications market are second to none and by heading up our team in this region, Mark will help Acision achieve further growth by exploiting market opportunities”

Mark Williams said in this role, he was determined to ensure Acision sustains its leadership in Asia.

“I am also determined to grow its market share by developing existing partnerships with local carriers, creating new strategic relationships and delivering sales across Acision’s propositions in messaging, mobile broadband, mobile marketing and charging,” said Mark Williams, GM for Acision, Asia Pacific,” he added.
