Acer unveils dual OS netbook

BANGALORE, INDIA:Acer, today announced that, recently it has launched a netbook with dual OS.

The 10.1" Aspire One D250 offers the innovation and speed of Android, plus the full and reliable functionality of Windows, said a press release.

“Acer is the global leader in the Netbook category. As leaders it is our intent to continually invest into the category with a view to enhance the offering to the consumer. The dual OS Netbook is a 4th generation Netbook from the Acer stable and clearly reinforces our leadership position to the consumer and trade,” said S. Rajendran, CMO Acer India.

“We are now building on our existing portfolio by giving the consumer more choice in this category, by offering the first Android based OS netbook. We are confident of maintaining our leadership in the Netbook category, with continued innovation & constant endeavor to deliver the best to our customers,” he added.

The Android based netbook adds to the already extensive range of netbooks on offer by Acer. In order to keep consumer comfortable it will also have the Win XP OS.

The open design of Android gives Aspire One users faster connections to the Internet and increased access to productivity and entertainment applications.

Android empowers the Aspire One netbook to boot up and shut down quickly with “instant on” Internet connectivity, saving time and boosting productivity. The netbooks prides itself on of its 18 second boot-up (power-on) and  3-second shutdown, with Android being a quick-SMBin, quick-out OS, the release added.

The Aspire One D250 is available at all leading LFRs, Acer Malls and Acer Points, throughout the country, at an introductory price of Rs. 16, 999/-+ taxes.
