Acer ties up with AMTRON

BANGALORE, INDIA: Acer,a provider of computing services, today announced that it has joined hands with Assam Electronics Development Corporation (AMTRON) to award the meritorious students of the state.

It bagged an order from AMTRON to provide 6,300 notebooks to its students under the Anundoram Borooah Awards scheme initiative, said a press release.

Every student who secured 60 p.c and higher in the Secondary Education Board of Assam were rewarded with a free laptop by the Government of Assam.The notebooks operating on Linux was specifically developed by Acer with a series of features to meet the student’s specific requirements, the release said.

Rajendran, chief marketing officer, Acer India, said, “Acer, known to empower people, has taken a step ahead with its newest technology, making it more accessible to students who will play a pivotal role in taking India to the next level. Understanding the sheer size and reach of this country, we have played an imperative role in reaching out to consumers even in the most secluded parts of the country.”

He added that India being a price sensitive market, they have been successful in providing products at mainstream price offering unbridled value to their consumers. They are extremely honoured to be associated with the Assam government in fulfilling the desires of thousands of students within the specified time frame and they look forward to building this alliance further.
