Acer slashes notebook prices

NEW DELHI: Acer has announced price reduction on its four TravelMate notebooks ranging from Rs 33,999 through to Rs 64,999. Acer is also offering a further Rs 2,000 off on these four models for students as part of its Student Rebate Program.

The range of notebooks includes the TravelMate 2303FLC, TravelMate 4000FLCi, TravelMate 2308NLCi, and the widescreen TravelMate 4002 WLCi.

The notebooks feature latest Acer Signal Up Technology, new sleek folio design and Acer e-Manager technology. Acer has also announced an enhanced bundle offer of a PD 113 DLP projector and an upgraded notebook TravelMate 2308 NLCi available Rs 99, 999.

The TravelMate 2303FLC, an entry level Intel Celeron M Processor 340 (1.5 GHz) with 512 KB cache and 400 MHz FSB, is priced at Rs 33,999. The TravelMate 2308NLCi comprises of an Intel Pentium M Processor 715 (1.5 GHz) with 2 MB L2 cache and 400 Mhz FSB and is priced at Rs 42,999. The TM 2308 LCi offers wireless (802.11b/g) connectivity at the same price point. All three notebooks feature 40 GB hard disk drive, 256 MB RAM, CDRW/DVD combo and come pre-loaded with Linux OS.

Acer's TravelMate 4000FLCi features Intel Centrino mobile technology and is powered by an Intel Pentium M Processor 710 (1.4Ghz) with 2 MB L2 cache and 400 MHz FSB. It comprises of a 40 GB hard disk, 256 MB Memory, CDRW / DVD, Linux OS and features Intel PRO 2200 - 802.11 b/g integrated Wireless LAN with Intel 855 GME chipset at Rs 44,999.

The TravelMate 4002 WLCi also features Intel Centrino mobile technology and is powered by an Intel Pentium M Processor 725 (1.6Ghz) with 2 MB L2 cache and 400 MHz FSB. It comprises of a 60 GB hard disk, 256 MB Memory, CDRW / DVD, and features Intel PRO 2200 - 802.11 b/g integrated Wireless LAN with Intel 855 GME chipset and Microsoft Windows XP Professional. It is available at Rs 64,999.

Acer also recently announced the launch of the Aspire 1362 NLC at a price point of Rs 29, 999 targeted at the price conscious buyer and student community.
