Acer products carrying and supporting Windows XP will comprise four desktop

models within the Veriton series, as well as six of the company's TravelMate

mobile PC series.

S Rajendran, Acer India's general manager-marketing, said, "Acer has

applied considerable resources in preparation for the installation of Windows XP

on its systems by endorsing and supporting the Windows XP-Ready PC and Upgrade

Programs."

He further added that as customers make the transition to Windows XP, they

would again reap the benefits of what Acer's award-winning products have to

offer. Acer's Veriton series was built specifically to meet the needs of leading

professionals on the move.

The new Windows XP will further enhance Veriton's superb performance and

system stability. Additionally, Acer's TravelMate mobile PCs are shipped with

Windows XP feature Network Location Awareness (NLA), as well as Smart Card and

wireless networking support. Network Location Awareness allows the system to

react to changes in location, resulting in link-up to the nearest and most

efficient server connection. The new Windows XP will undoubtedly take the

TravelMate series to the next level of professional and portable computing.
