Acer launches first-ever desktop with in-built CPU

BANGALORE: Acer India has introduced its latest product - the Veriton Flat Panel — in the Indian market. According to a release, the Veriton FP with its in-built CPU is a space-saving, low radiation, all-in-one business-ready PC solution.

The product, targeted at high-end corporate users, has its CPU built into the flat screen. The Veriton FP is in response to the demands of today’s professional environment that require PC systems which integrate environmental and user friendliness, performance, superior operations, compactness in size and good style in presentation, the release said.

"The Veriton FP is the ideal PC for commercial business," said S. Rajendran, General Manager- Marketing, Acer India. "With its slim form factor and a high-resolution, low-radiation digital LCD display panel, the Veriton FP is ready for professional work in standalone or networked computing environments," he added.

According to the release, the Veriton FP is directed at the professional, image conscious environments such as banking and financial, healthcare, legal and judicial, service and hospitality industry where success is dependent upon making a good first impression on clientele. The product is also aimed at the individuals such as CEOs, Businessmen, etc., who look at functionality and aesthetics, particularly in corridors of power where ambience matters.

The Veriton FP incorporates multimedia, speakers, floppy drive, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and CPU into the LCD display panel face, with no unattractive peripheral clutter. The model features Intel’s Pentium III 566 MHz processor and a system memory of 128-MB expandable up to 256 MB.

The product also has has a 10/100 Fast Ethernet connection. It is available in India at just less than Rs 1.5 lakh, plus taxes and other levies extra.
