The latest version of Acer Aspire One has a mini notebook, 10.1" WSVGA high-brightness and Acer CrystalBrite TFT LCD. The netbook is available in blue black and red colour, with a capacity of 2 GB memory. Some models of the Aspire series have Intel to use the new version of Atom processor N270, which has a slightly higher clock speed of 1.60GHz and supports memory faster.

The netbook has a bright and readable display in its native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is integrated with Acer Crystal Eye Webcam. This screen allows more space for applications that use the first generation of netBook.

The Aspire One has a collection of ports, which includes two USB ports on the right side of the case, while the left has a third, plus an Ethernet port, VGA output connector, two built-in stereo speakers, and a slot flash memory cards (Multi-in-1 card reader SD, MMC, MS, MS PRO, xD)

At the bottom of the case, the Aspire One has three doors with screws in place. These allow access to hard disk, memory and wireless adapter. Thus, the system can be upgraded with relative ease. It also comes with one-year international travelers warranty (ITW) along with protective sleeve bag.

While previous models of Aspire came with a choice of operating system, the new Aspire One ships only with Windows XP Home Edition. Other software includes a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Works Suite for users, and McAfee Security Center. There are also public utilities, potentially the most useful of which is the Acer eRecovery Management, which restores the system to the original condition when it was delivered from an image in a hidden partition on the hard disk.
