Acer intros 3G embedded netbook in India

BANGALORE, INDIA: Taiwan-headquartered PC maker Acer partnered with Reliance Netconnect to roll out its first mobile broadband equipped netbooks in India, the Aspire One532h.

The Aspire One532h is Acer's first 3G embedded netbook, which comes powered with Intel Atom processor and an inbuilt CDMA/HSPA broadband + modem facility.

The embedded WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) technology helps in conserving energy which offers up to eight hours battery life.

S Rajendran, CMO, Acer India, opined, “The Indian market has been displaying a tremendous appetite for mobile connectivity in the form of netbooks and notebooks. This gets a further fillip with Acer’s embedded broadband netbook with a multitude of attendant benefits like longer battery-life, convenience, tighter integration, security and lower TCO.

The new wireless offer is available on Windows 7 starter versions in the Aspire Netbook range. 

Acer will offer a variety of netbooks with built-in wireless capabilities at prices starting at Rs. 19,499 (taxes and levies extra), with two months free data usage worth Rs 2,198
