Acer introduces mobile P4 processor notebook with DDR memory

NEW DELHI: Acer has announced the launch of its TravelMate 630, the first
mobile PC with

the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor - M. Targeted at the mainstream market,
this is Acer's first appearing mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor - M based mobile
PC suited for the business users. Its multimedia and various premium functions
represent the powerful performance in the current mobile PC market.

The TravelMate 630 effectively applies Acer's thermal technology to create a
currently highest performance-per-cost and time-to-market Pentium 4 Processor -
M mobile PC.

Integrating the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor - M, teamed up with DDR
SDRAM at the processing horsepower at 1.7GHz with 512KB of L2 cache, Acer's
TravelMate 630, as pleasant as a desktop system, offers users the mobility with
its enhanced speed, multimedia functions and 3D features.

Furthermore, the TravelMate 630 provides full connectivity including the LAN,
56K internal modem and IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN. The choice of hot-swappable
modules - DVD-ROM, DVD/CD-RW, 2nd HDD and floppy drive - ensures high
flexibility to satisfy all kinds of usage, application and environment needs.
Plus the common components being chosen, the TravelMate 630 offers users lower
total cost of ownership (TCO).

Moreover, the TravelMate 630 employs the nVidia GeForce2 Go 100 graphics
chipset with 16MB of DDR VRAM, and the 15" SXGA+ resolution TFT LCD
monitor, both providing the ever-superior graphics capabilities. Acer's
TravelMate 630 has stylist designs, such as the FineTouch keyboard, built-in
touchpad pointing device with ergonomic buttons, 4-way integrated scroll key and
five launch keys. The TravelMate 630's durable aluminum panel casing and
integrated SmartCard-based security package, combined with the PlatinumSecret
software suite and Disk Anti-Shock Protection (DASP) system, allow users to
enjoy the stringent data security, unauthorized access prevention, hard disk
guard against physical damage and much more additional safeties.
