BANGALORE, INDIA: Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has issued a public notification against certain individuals and recruitment agencies that are indulging in illegal practice of offering jobs in exchange of money on behalf of the company.
The company stated that it hasn't authorized any individuals or job firms for recruiting staff at Accenture.
“Accenture's criteria for hiring candidates is meritocracy. Any agency, company or individual making an offer on behalf of Accenture in exchange for money is an impostor or fraud and is not authorized by Accenture. Accenture reserves the right to initiate prosecution against any individual or entity that is found to be engaging in such an act,” the company's notification said.
Further, the New York Stock Exchanged listed company clarified that it is not obliged or bound to honor any job assurances made through such means particularly in exchange for money.
However, the company pointed out that it has appointed professional recruitment agencies, who have been authorized to extend or offer candidatures to Accenture, provided they meet the relevant skill sets.
When Cybermedia news tried to contact the company officials, they did not respond back. Moreover, William D Green, Accenture chairman and chief executive officer, during the Indian Economic Summit held in 2009 had said the company would recruit around 8000 employees by end 2010. "We are 42,000 right now and we imagine we will be about 50,000 by the end of 2010," Green had said.
Globally, Accenture has 177,000 staff strength in more than 120 countries, while in India it has around 42,000 employees.
