Accenture unveils contest for innovative minds

BANGALORE, INDIA: Accenture, in partnership with Yahoo India, has launched the first edition of ‘Innovation Jockeys’, the hunt for India’s most innovative minds across campuses in India.

Winners of these awards would be selected by an eminent jury and the winning team will walk away with a trip to France, said a press release.

Nominations are open to final-year undergraduate and graduate students across India who are willing to make a difference to their college, city or home. The last date for submitting entries is March 31, 2012.

The contest, themed “Everyday Innovations for Home, College and City”, is aimed at discovering bright, young, home-grown innovators and encouraging them to push their potential to take on the responsibility to drive significant changes to the environment around them.

To participate in this contest, students need to submit their entries online through a microsite developed for the contest — http://innovationjockeys.yahoo.net.

The entries would be rigorously evaluated by the panel of judges comprising of Nagesh Kukunoor, filmmaker, R Sukumar, editor, Mint, Sudhir Dixit, director, HP Labs, Kishore Swaminathan, global director of Research, Accenture Technology Labs and Shouvick Mukherjee, CEO, Yahoo! India R&D. The best entry across the home, college and city categories will win a trip to Accenture Technology Labs, Sophia Antipolis (France) and an Apple goodie bag for each team member, in a grand awards ceremony which will be held at Bangalore in April.
