CHENNAI: Technology services firm Accenture has expanded its operations here with the addition of 3,000 seats to its existing facility at Sozhanganallur.
The firm set up its operations in Chennai in 2005 and currently employs more than 3,000 people in the city who provide technology and business process outsourcing (BPO) services to global clients.
In the past 12 months the company has increased its headcount in Chennai from 1,100 people to more than 3,000.
According to Steve Rohleder, Accenture's chief operating officer, "Chennai is an integral part of our Global Delivery Network. In addition to the rapid growth, I am deeply impressed by the quality of our people here and extremely pleased with the nature and quality of work that they are delivering to clients. This expansion is a result of the strong demand for services from our Chennai delivery center."
Accenture's Global Delivery Network consists of more than 44 delivery centers around the world, including facilities in North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, including 10 delivery centers across India.
