ANKLESHWAR, INDIA: The Ankleshwar Bharuch IT Association (ABITA) executive members organized a general body meeting last week and drew a roadmap for the second half of the current fiscal.

The important activity on the agenda of ABITA for the present fiscal is conducting an IT exhibition. The dates of the expo have been set for January 3-5, 2009.

"The IT exhibition will be quite different from the expo we conducted previously. This time we are giving an opportunity to Consumer Electronic Home Appliances (CEHA) to take participate and display their products. We are investing a huge amount this time as we are receiving good response from sponsors," said Sameer Mehta, VP, ABITA.

Speaking about the vendors who have shown interest in participating in the expo, Mehta said, "We are negotiating with vendors like LG, HP and Acer for sponsorship, but no paper work have been done so far. We are waiting for their response. Intel has sent their conformation for participation in the expo."

According to the executive members of the association, the coming expo will be organized in a big way. Retailers like E-Zone and Croma are also being invited to participate in the expo.

"We are planning to set up 70 to 80 stalls in the expo. The estimated expense of the entire expo is close to Rs 4 to 5 lakh. The total revenue generation will be Rs 8 to

9 lakh. 35,000 visitors are expected during the three day program," explained Naeem Surajwala, President of ABITA.

ABITA is also planning to organize seminars on security and its importance during the expo. "We are planning to invite a veteran from the IT industry to present the seminar," said Surajwala.

For the IT expo, ABITA has tie-up with Sad Vidya Mandal Institute of Technology (SVMIT) for co-ordination. The association is conducting awareness programs for end-customers about the usage of WiMax and its advantages. The dates of the seminars will be announced soon.
