CIOL-A monitor without any cable clutter from AOC and Porsche

One of the biggest mess on anyone's work table is the cable clutter that comes as a package deal with our monitors. The never-ending entangled wires aren't just an eyesore but at times risky too. But finally, you can rid yourself of the mess. AOC and Studio F. A. Porsche have designed and manufactured two new Full HD displays — the 24-inch PDS241 and the 27-inch PDS271 — that come with just one cable. Though we won't call it a breakthrough design or some big achievement, the companies involved would like you to see it as a USP. But, honestly, with Porsche involved, you actually expect nothing but something extraordinary.

Both the monitors are nearly bezel-less, but their key design feature is the single-cord stand. The power and HDMI outputs are combined in a single cord that exits through the stand, so you won’t see any cables hanging from the back of the monitor.

"The design philosophy behind these monitors was inspired by the principals of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche: His approach was “If you analyze the function of an object, its form often becomes obvious.” In its purest sense, a monitor is just a screen. But the screen is meant to provide a beautiful visual experience, and that experience is often marred by unsightly cables hanging down from the monitor’s ports," the duo said in an official press release.

However, there are few drawbacks. The monitors are not meant to be used with a gaming system like a lot of AOC's other products are. With the refresh rate capped at 60Hz, fast-moving images might turn up a little blurry. Also, the single cord design means that you can only plug in one device with the lone HDMI port.

But if all these aren't your considerations and you are fascinated by the new designs and want to declutter your study or work table, the 24 inch and 27 inch model of this new AOC monitor are now available for purchase from Amazon for $199 and $249 respectively.
