MUMBAI, INDIA: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has received one million emails in support of Net Neutrality. The number of emails will further rise as the last day to vote for the campaign is today.
Incidentally, this also makes Net Neutrality the first ever social campaign to receive the biggest ever e-response. TRAI must never have imagined the deluge of emails that would flood its inbox, the day it decided to invite comments on Net Neutrality.
It must be recalled that TRAI had on March 27, 2015, mounted a consultation paper on its website asking users to give their views on Net Neutrality in India.
The campaign garnered support not only from angry netizens, but also industry bodies such as Nasscom and COAI. The latest group to join the support are more than 50 faculty members from top educational institutions of the country, including IITs and IISc.
