Globally, SAP aims to employ one percent of its workforce with people affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by 2020. In addition to the ten individuals with ASD who currently work at SAP India, an additional ten would be hired by the end of 2015, the company said.

Chosen candidates will undergo three month training and will join the development, functional testing, support and research teams respectively.

The initiative is a part of the company’s global Autism at Work initiative, which was announced after a partnership in 2013, with Specialisterne, a social business based in Denmark focused on helping people with autism find employment.

“Hiring people who are outside the mainstream is a reflection of our belief that a diverse and inclusive culture sparks more innovation and therefore helps us create value for ourselves and our customers,” said Bhuvaneswar Naik, HR Head, SAP India. “Tapping a larger pool of talent also helps us to accelerate our innovation.”

Interested candidates and organizations can reach out to sapenquiries@enable-india.org for applications and queries.
