It has aggressive plans for the market and aims to achieve 15 percent marketshare and the second position in India.

Speaking about the Indian presence so far, Cheryl Chu, Deputy Project Manager, A-Data Technnology said that A-Data has been in India for sometime and is now looking at strengthening its presence.

“A-Data is a young company that is only eight years old but we have got recognition for innovative designs of our products at various platforms. Earlier our focus had been in Taiwan only. Now for the last one and half years, A-Data has been expanding its focus and is investing in the potential market like Russia, Latin America and India. India is a strong market and we want to achieve the same status as we have achieved in China, Germany and Indonesia where we gained number two position. Right from the product quality, features, marketing and promotional activities and the after sale support we are considering all aspects to achieve our set targets.”

Currently A-DATA has tied up with SES in Mumbai, Iris Computers in Delhi and Technocrat in Kolkata for the distribution of its products at the national level. The company is in the process of appointing one more national distributor.

Speaking on the competition that A-DATA is faced with, the presence of strong players, Chris Chang, Deputy Project Manager, A-DATA Technology elaborated, “Companies like Sandisk and Kingston are old in the market and they have a strong presence. We are very young in comparison to them. They entered the Indian markets a long time back and we are at an early stage to compete with them. But in the market like China, Taiwan and Russia, we have attained top positions with our aggressive strategies, energetic promotions and plans and we will gradually gain that position in India also.” A-DATA provides service through a third party, Accel Frontline which has presence in 40 locations across the country.

“We have some fixed plans for the Indian market. We are conducting dealers meet in a quarterly basis and we are giving training to our partners to encourage A-DATA among the end customers. Our another strategy to achieve the potential market is through retail chain stores. The stylish range of products are best promoted through the retail store, like Chroma, Next, Reliance and others. We are promoting and positioning the lifestyle products through the retail stores in a big way,” said Chang. Once A-DATA gains momentum in the Indian market, the company will start its operations directly in India and will have its own office here.
