HYDERABAD: Logistics software provider Four Soft Limited is working on the next version of the 4S eTrans solution.

The company is planning to launch 4S eTrans 2.4, a Web-based freight management system in April 2008, according to Palem Srikanth, CEO and managing director, Four Soft.

This year Four Soft has bagged two big deals from Japan’s Yusen Air and Sea Service Company Ltd. and a US-based company to provide eTrans.

Besides 4S eTrans, Four Soft is also developing 4S eLog 2.1. The company expects to release the next edition of the warehouse management system in the upcoming months. Four Soft had launched 4S eLog 2.o last month.

Acquisition on halt for a while

Four Soft, which has grown though acquisitions, has decided not to pursue any takeover this fiscal year. The post acquisition activities in the past, said Srikanth, were not as desired.

“This year we would grow organically. There were some cultural issues involved in the acquisitions we made. In future we should be careful of the products we acquire,’’ said Srikanth.

He also said that the company sees a big potential in the ERP space. “Being a niche player will help Four Soft. We expect to increase our business in this space.’’

Srikanth predicted that Four Soft’s US and Asia businesses would grow up considerably. They can even become at par with the company’s European operation. Europe at 65 per cent is Four Soft’s biggest market.
