BANGALORE, INDIA: 3DSoC, an interactive 3D modelling company based in Bangalore,  launched India's first ever 'interactive multi-media mobile 3D Greetings' for its customers on account of Ganeshotsav.

Best of all, the application is absolutely free – you can also download it on your java-enabled handset from: http://www.3dsoc.com/demo/vismobile/VISGanesha.jar

3D rendering and display is the key to enabling 'richness' of visual content over the digital medium. However, until now, it was nearly impossible to 'squeeze' 3D content into mobiles. File-size was truly the limiting factor.

The revolutionary VIS format enables 3D models – with interactivity and animation – in very low footprints. Using this technology 3DSoC has built the immersive Ganesha greetings enabling users to perform virtual 'Pooja' to Lord Ganesha on their phones. The application also enables users to share this technology by allowing them to send SMSs to their friends with download information for the greetings.

Ram Rajagopalan, vice president, Mobile Applications, 3DSoC said "This is a milestone for the mobile greeting space. We believe that our technology has changed the way mobiles can be used and has set a trend. India being the second fastest mobile market in the world, with growing middle and affluent class users visiting shopping complex and malls, we intend to reach a wider audience through this. We'll be releasing more such greetings going forward."
