SAN DIEGO: Qualcomm Inc. said Thursday that 3Com Corp. will bundle the
wireless technology firm's Eudora e-mail program on CDs with 3Com's US Robotics
branded modems worldwide. This is expected to give 3Com increased visibility for its US Robotics
product.
As part of Eudora's distribution program, computer networking equipment maker
3Com said in a statement it will get increased brand awareness online and
offline from the co-branding pact.
The US Robotics' logo will get placement within the user interface of Eudora
e-mail software in sponsored mode. The logo will be prominently be displayed in
the Eudora user interface.
The Eudora distribution program lets its partners tap into its growing user
base. Qualcomm has seen more than one million downloads of this newest version
of Eudora since it was commercially released in mid-February.
Shares of Qualcomm closed at 61 Wednesday and shares of 3Com closed at
64-7/8.
