“After meeting with a number of highly qualified candidates, we found Scott extremely well-suited to lead 3Com into the future,” said Eric Benhamou, Chairman of 3Com. “His ability to drive operations, grow revenue and increase profitability will be critical in accelerating the execution of 3Com's strategy and creating shareholder value.”

Prior to accepting the role of CEO for 3Com, Murray was the CEO of Modus Media International, a global provider of supply chain management and hosted services. He also expanded Modus' operations in Europe and Asia, particularly in China.

“3Com has a sound strategy and incredible assets, including its core networking products; its industry leading security division, TippingPoint; and its joint venture with Huawei, all of which position it to become a leading vendor of secure, converged networking solutions for enterprise customers worldwide,” added Murray.

In addition to his work with Modus Media, Murray was also president and chief operating officer for Stream International, an outsourced Customer Relationship Management (CRM) services company. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for the Learning Company, a publicly traded software company with more than $800 million in annual revenue. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario and began his career as a chartered accountant for Arthur Andersen in Canada.
