Information Technology industry body Nasscom has shortlisted 39 Indian startups for its ‘Innotrek‘ programme to be held in the US, where tech entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to meet investors and learn business nuances from experts.

As a part of its efforts to support and mentor India’s proliferating start-up ecosystem, National Association of Software and Services Companies’ (NASSCOM) 10,000 startup program will be hosting the third edition of NASSCOM Innotrek from May 2-7, 2016.

The programme is aimed at providing the select group of technology entrepreneurs and founders with an opportunity to interact with investors, experts from the Silicon Valley and corporate, Nasscom 10,000 Startups Senior Director Rajat Tandon told PTI. He added that the startups will also have the opportunity to learn about scaling up globally and forming alliances for them to give them a competitive advantage.

These include names like Adnabu, Pushngage, Discover Dollar Technologies, Squadrun and Uncanny Vision solutions among others. “The startups that have been chosen work across the spectrum Internet of Things, gaming, healthcare, fin-tech, sports-tech. These companies have products that can be scaled globally and being in the Silicon Valley is a great opportunity to connect with the right people,” Tandon said.

Agenda

This year the startups will also visit tech campuses of top technology based corporates such as Google, Facebook, IBM, Microsoft, and accelerator partner where they will interact with the respective product teams and gain insightful information on platform capabilities of these companies.

Additionally, they will also get a chance to attend the TiECon 2016 – TiE Silicon Valley’s flagship annual conference where the Indian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to interact with a large number of entrepreneurs, VCs, industry executives, and thought leaders.

Talking about the importance of the event, Rajat Tandon stated, “Innotrek is a Global Access Program from 10,000 Start-ups that acts as a one-stop shop for budding startups to experience the environment at Silicon Valley. The exposure they get here helps them improve their servicing and grow leaps and bounds. We are confident that this program will continue to grow and encourage new startups in the country.

“In the first year, we chose 25 startups. Last year, there were 34 and this year, we have 39. These are early stage and growth stage startups,” he said. The objective is also to showcase some of the best startups to the Silicon Valley and to invite them to come over, he added.

10,000 Start-ups

10,000 Start-ups is an ambitious attempt by NASSCOM to scale up the start-up ecosystem in India by 10x. 10,000 Start-ups aims to enable incubation, funding and support for 10,000 technology start-ups in India over the next ten years.
