2012: Twitter's hottest stars are Sherlyn Chopra, Sunny Leone...

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The year 2012 was a stealth transformation for microblogging site Twitter. Forget social parlance, Twitter turned out to be platform for many models and actresses to grab instant limelight.

India's model Sherlyn Chopra (@SherlynChopra) on Deccember 25, put up a caricature of Santa Claus with the caption 'Shocked Santa' engaging in sexual act. Just three days before on December 22, the site had removed some of her 'indecent' pictures. However, her Playboy magazine's photoshoot in July put her amongst the top Twitter trends. Chopra has also posted the images of her upcoming Hollywood-make movie Kamasutra.

Indo-Canadian porn star-turned-actress Sunny Leone's topless pictures ahead of her Bollywood debut with Jism 2 release on August 31 made news on Twitter and later she posted her photos in lingerie.

Model Poonam Pandey, who couldn't fulfil her promise of stripping on India's World Cup victory, finally grabbed many eyes when her skinny photos went viral. After Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders win, she posted a picture, saying: 'here is a pic, I promised.' Pandey tweeted: finally on public demand sharing a pic #PoonamPandeyWithoutBikini Tweethearts!!

On Oct 13, she celebrated: No Bra Day by posting some photos. She also posted the first-look posters of her debut film Nasha, with the tag: "Love scene in a chopper in the sky gave the gods Nasha. Doomsday postponed!
