Novell exec says Microsoft withheld vital data

Microsoft withheld technical specification of the Windows OS when
required by Novell, to make its networking products compatible with the PC OS,
said Novell’s CTO. Carl Ledbetter testified on behalf of the nine states that
are seeking tougher sanctions against Microsoft.

Philips in $5 bn deal with Dell

Philips Electronics has signed a $5 billion contract with Dell to
supply it with an array of key electronic components such as CRTs and flat-panel
displays and storage devices. The devices will be delivered over a five-year

DoCoMo heads for red on overseas losses

year due to write-offs on its overseas investments, but this should pave the way

HP to delay joint operation date

HP shares have hit the $17.75 mark, as shareholders who opposed the
merger are selling their HP shares in anticipation of a narrow majority.
Analysts also feel that the shares could dip to as low as $10 a share if the
merger is less successful than management has been projecting.

Interoperable storage networking solutions released

Legato, Quantum, StorageTek and Veritas have joined them to provide a new
solution. The new solution set adds additional backup capabilities, multi-vendor

this.
