Motorola to offer ring tones for wireless phones

in a bid to spur demand for personal computers in a weak economy. Intel has
decreased the price of its 2 gigahertz Xeon processor by 26% and AMD cut its
Athlon’s price by 12%.

Cisco offers new version of software for routers

Nucleus reports 100% Q2 revenue growth

Nucleus Software has reported 100 per cent growth rate in the
quarter ended September 30, 2001, over the corresponding quarter last year, with
a total revenue of Rs 14.62 crore for the quarter. The continued investment of
Nucleus Software in research and development is leading to its consistent growth
over the last 15 years. The company projects Rs 20 crore and Rs 25 crore as
total revenues for Q3 and Q4 respectively, in the current financial year.

VSNL’s Q2 net up 6.1%, meets forecast

VSNL has reported its second-quarter net profit rose 6.1 per cent
from a year earlier, in line with analysts’ expectations. The company officials
said its net profit for the July-September quarter rose to Rs 3.685 billion or
Rs 12.93 a share, from Rs 3.472 billion or Rs 12.18 a share a year earlier.

Satyam wins Reuters’ software contract

Satyam Computer Services has won a contract from Reuters UK for
software application maintenance and support services for the client’s IS
applications. The project includes software support, maintenance and development
services for the information Systems department of Reuters. The projects would
be executed from Reuters offices in the UK and Satyam development centers in
India and Basingstoke, the UK.
