BEIJING, CHINA: Facebook may be blocked in China, but that has not prevented its co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg from visiting the country of the great wall.

Zuckerberg, who began his China visit today toured the offices of Baidu, China’s most popular search engine, said media reports. However, there is no report as to what all he discussed with Baidu CEO Robin Li.

Though there were rumours in the blogosphere that Facebook may be acquired by Baidu, the search giant's Director of International Communications Kaiser Kuo said the speculations are “greatly exaggerated”.

“C’mon people. Robin and Mark have known each other for a while. Mark’s interest in China is well known. Keep the speculation in check.”

As per reports, Zuckerberg is traveling with Chinese-American girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, and no apparent entourage.

Will the iron curtain on Facebook be lifted after the visit, only time can tell.
