ZTE captures 26pc of APAC video conferencing market revenue

SHENZHEN, CHINA: ZTE Corporation ("ZTE") retained its position as the No. 1 vendor in the video-conferencing market in Asia Pacific after sustaining rapid growth in revenue and shipments, according to data from Wainhouse Research.

ZTE was the top vendor with 26 percent of the video-conferencing market in Asia Pacific by revenue in the fourth quarter of 2013, according to data from Wainhouse. ZTE increased its market share from 23 percent in the previous quarter based on data from Wainhouse Research, a consulting and market research company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts that specializes in the unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) market.

The company offers customized solutions to meet the requirements of small to medium sized enterprises, as well as products designed for increased enterprise mobility. ZTE is also actively conducting research in cloud-based video-conferencing technologies.

Globally, ZTE employs more than 1,000 technical experts in video-conferencing systems across the company's 18 R&D centers across the world. ZTE has been building advanced video-conferencing systems since entering the market in 1994, and owns more than 150 related patents.

In 2013, ZTE experienced rapid growth in the video-conferencing market in Asia Pacific, doubling its revenue market share between the first quarter and the fourth quarter, according to data from Wainhouse Research. Globally, ZTE was the third-highest-ranked video-conferencing vendor, based on data from the analyst firm.

ZTE's integrated multimedia video-conferencing solutions are deployed by customers in a diverse range of applications including administration, commerce, remote education, remote medicine, collaborative office, disaster relief, emergency command and guarantee services.
