Zomato acquires US based NexTable

Zomato has acquired NexTable, an online table reservation platform based in, North Carolina for an undisclosed sum.

BANGALORE, INDIA: Zomato has acquired NexTable, an online table reservation platform based in, North Carolina for an undisclosed sum. This has been the company's ninth acquisition. Zomato will soon rename NexTable to Zomato Book.

With the acquisition of both NexTable and MaplePOS, the company is enriching its search for its users and adding more value. The company has also been making endeavours into table reservations, online ordering, and in-app cashless payments.

Pankaj Chaddah, Co-Founder and COO, Zomato said, "NexTable will add to this layer by bringing in the convenience of easy, online reservations for thousands of restaurants to our millions of users. NexTable will be a great addition to our existing product, and will add immense value to our efforts to make dining experiences even more enjoyable."

The company, made another important move partnering with Uber. This partnership will enable users to book cabs to their desired restaurant.

The feature will eventually be rolled out in all the markets.

Zomato currently provides information for over 1 million restaurants across 22 countries and Uber is currently present in over 300 cities in 56 countries.
