Google also announced that YouTube Kids has served up 30 billion video views and has over 8 million weekly active users — that's a seriously large audience to address.

The YouTube Kids app is the first Google product built from the ground up with kids in mind. The app helps children to find videos on topics they want to explore, whether it’s searching for science experiments, watching a favourite cartoon, or only watching your favourite creator’s new videos.

With the added support for smart TVs, YouTube Kids is now available on iOS, Android, Chromecast in 26 countries worldwide.

Though LG, Samsung and Sony's smart TVs are supporting the app, Google's own TV operating is yet to join the list. Google says Android TV support for the app will be released in the future, but it did not offer a specific release date.
