This would mean the company would be pushing up its LED sorting capacity to 2.1 billion LED chips in September, as against the current 1.5 billion units.

With shipments to the tune of 1.23 billion LED chips, the semiconductor testing company said that its LED sorting utilization, excluding automated optical inspection (AOI) capacity, had touched the 85 per cent mark during the month of June.

Order visibility for LED sorting at the company has also gone up to the end of July. According to industry observers, Youngtek has as its largest LED sorting agent none other than LED chip-maker Epistar.

Epistar is believed to be accounting for close to 37.5 per cent of Youngtek’s total revenues. The figures for June have seen Youngtek’s LED sorting accounting for 47.39 per cent of the company's total revenues in June, followed by IC testing with 45.95 per cent, and equipment testing with 6.66 per cent, said a DigiTimes report on Youngtek.

In June, the company had clocked revenues to the tune of US$5.7 million, up 23.22 per cent from its May figures.
