Yokogawa Blue Star to float software unit

BANGALORE: Yokogawa Blue Star has said that it would launch a wholly-owned

information technology solutions company, Plant-Centric Technologies, in the

next three months to offer extended enterprise applications services for the

process industry.

According to Yokogawa Blue Star managing director JP Singh, the company is

planning to invest about Rs 10-12 crore in the new venture in the next three

years. In this period, the new business is expected to generate gross revenues

of about Rs 50 crore. "Plant-Centric will target the process industry,

where we already have the experience and customer base," Singh added.

Yokogawa Blue Star’s 1999-2000 results which were announced recently,

show a total income of Rs 152.69 crore, up from Rs 133.14 crore in 1998-99, and

profit after tax of Rs 7.61 crore as against Rs 3.57 crore the previous year. An

interim dividend of 30 per cent declared in April, is also the final dividend

for the year.
