Yahoo! India R&D to host 'ProductCamp'

BANGALORE, INDIA: Yahoo! India R&D will be hosting a ProductCamp (referred as P-Camp) for the Product Management community on October 23rd 2010 in Bangalore.

The event is being organized with the support of the India Product Management Association said a press release.

P-Camp is run on participant-driven event format, where the agenda is decided by the choice of participants, who vote for the topics to be presented or discussed at the event added the release.

“India has built a reputation with IT Services. To move up the value chain, it is essential for the industry to now focus on product innovation and we are honored to host this P-Camp” said Shouvick Mukherjee, vice president and CEO — Yahoo! India Research & Development.

“P-Camps have grown in popularity across the globe over the past few years and we felt it’s the right time to bring it to Bangalore, as the city is home to several hi-tech companies consisting of MNCs, start-ups and some of the country’s leading academic institutions,” says Bala Girisaballa, director, Yahoo! Entrepreneur Network (YEN).

The event attracts a wide spectrum of attendees ranging from product managers to architects, recent B-school grads, academia, the investment community etc. P-Camps and other product management events validate the need for support systems like the ‘India Product Management Association’.
