Yahoo! announces winners of Open Hack Day

BANGALORE, INDIA: "Open means Yahoo!," said David Filo, co founder and chief, Yahoo! on the inauguration day of Yahoo! Open Hack Day, an event which aims to bring developers together to create Yahoo's open API's and developer tools to create new applications for Yahoo!.

"The main purpose of Open Hack Day is to bring together all third party developers, student community from all over the country to leverage and share ideas to develop Yahoo's open API's and developer tools to create new applications," added Filo.

Out of the selected 361 participants, there were 303 hackers and 58 Info geeks, who came in for the tech talks. The event went on for 24 hours hours of hack, where 66 unique hacks from 125 hackers were submitted.

The second open hacked day in India saw a participation of 361 developers from acrooss the globe, who were selected to celebrate innovation and 7th Open Hack Day being organized by Yahoo! worldwide.
