Xiaomi launches Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro and Mi TV 4 in India

Xiaomi has finally unveiled its secret smartphones. The Chinese company launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro for the Indian users at an event yesterday. The Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs 9,999 for 3GB+ 32GB variant and Rs 11,999 for the 4GB+64GB version. The Redmi Note 5 Pro costs Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM variant and Rs 16,999 for the 6GB RAM model.

The Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch with an 18:9 aspect ratio that has rounded corners and curved 2.5D glass. Inside, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with a choice of 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. On the back is a 12MP, f/2.2 camera and on the front is a 5MP camera with LED flash. The phone will come with MIUI 9 running on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. Powering it is a 4,000mAh battery but with no fast charging and over a micro USB connector.

Now coming to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It has the same 5.99-inch display as the Redmi Note 5 but a new Snapdragon 636 processor with 4+4 Kryo 260 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz and Adreno 509 GPU. The phone gives you a choice of 4GB or 6GB RAM along with and 64GB of storage. On the back is a new dual camera system consisting of a 12MP f/2.2 primary camera and 5MP f/2.0 depth sensor. On the front is a 20MP camera with LED flash. The phone comes with Face Unlock, making it the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature the technology. The Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro will be available in four colors: Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Blue.

Apart from the mobiles, Xiaomi also announced the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 at the event. One of the biggest highlights of the TV is that it measures just 4.9mm and is claimed to be 30 percent thinner than the iPhone 7. The Mi TV 4 in India will come with a 55-inch 4K display (3840x2160 pixel) display, and sport a frameless design. It comes with integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 is priced at Rs 39,999. The Mi TV 4, which will be sold from 22 February, comes integrated with over 5,00,000 hours of content from video-on-demand providers.
