PUNE: Xansa is planning to increase its India headcount to 10,000 over the next three to four years. As a step in this direction, this UK based business processes and IT services company has opened its third center in India at Pune. Xansa has invested over Rs 160 crore in real estate for its three locations in India — Chennai, Noida and Pune.

Spanning an expanse of 17 acres, the Pune facility has a seating capacity for 3,500 professionals, with a modern cafeteria, artificial lake and break-out areas for recreation. This facility currently houses over 200 employees and will grow to over 3,500 over the next three to four years.

The Xansa Noida facility has around 1,600 employees while the Chennai facility has over 800 employees at present. While Chennai has a seating capacity of 6,000 seats, the Noida facility has a capacity for 2,000 seats.

According to Xansa executive chairman of India Saurabh Srivastava, "We already have a 28-acre campus at Chennai and see most of the growth happening from Pune and Chennai. Pune will focus on the financial institutions and telecom verticals".

Asked to comment on the ratio of BPO work and IT, he maintained that while the BPO accounted for 20 percent of the total revenues, a majority of the growth in BPO would happen in Noida and Chennai. "We see a lot of IT work being done out of Pune," he added.

Comparing the UK market with other European nations, Srivastava said that India remains the number one destination for offshoring. "The choice remains between Ireland and India and Ireland is about five percent cheaper than UK and therefore, India is a definite choice. In comparison, France and Germany are less mature markets," he explained.

According to Srivastava, Xansa has a clear focus on UK and has bagged a major contract from the National Health Services (UK). The company will look after the finances and accounting functions.
